Designed and specially made for us in Japan our range of knives includes three models.
A small paring knife perfect for precision cutting, peeling and paring tasks. A polyvalent santoku chef knife at ease with meat, fish and veggies. A high-quality blue paper steel petty that can serve as a small chef knife.
SHIZU HAMONO YAMATO RANGE
Aogami Kyoto is proud to distribute the Shizu Hamono Yamato knives.
Extremely robust, sharp and with a nice tsushime finish they are forged in Seki, out of AUS8 high carbon stainless steel.
The portfolio includes three models. The santoku is the perfect allrounder in the kitchen. With the deba and yanagiba knives you will be perfectly equipped to work fishes small and big in your kitchen.

HANDS-ON FRENCH COOKING CLASSES
Our lessons are hands-on. It means that you will not only look at a demonstration but participate and cook.
Atmosphere is informal and relaxed. You will enjoy what you have prepared with a glass of wine and discuss with other attendees.
Focus is on simple French family food, bistro or regional classics.
Several times a year, we embark for gourmet trips to various southern Europe countries such as Italy, Morocco, Spain or Greece.
Just pure cooking fun.
ORGANIZED ON SUNDAYS
Lessons are usually taking place two times a month on Sundays.
Course starts from 10am and ends around 2pm.
COOKING IN FRENCH OR IN ENGLISH
Our lessons offer the opportunity to cook either in French or English.
Each month the same lesson is first held in French and then in English.
Time is taken to present recipes and techniques. Japanese explanations can also be given as a complement.
JAPANESE COOKING CLASSES
HANDS-ON JAPANESE COOKING CLASSES
Join us and learn hands-on how to cook savory traditional Japanese dishes. Our Ichi-Ju-Sansai menu includes one main dish and three side dishes.
Current menu includes :
Chicken teriyaki
Burdock and carrot kimpira spicy starter
Green beans with sesame dressing
Japanese rolled omelette
White rice
Miso soup
Japanese pickles
Note that the menu may change to take full advantage of seasonal ingredients.
During this unique experience you will learn how to cook white rice, master simple dashi stock preparation, acquire basic cutting techniques for veggies or meat, roll Japanese omelette and get to know Kyoto rich culinary culture while enjoying a nice diner.
ORGANIZATION
Classes can be flexibly organized to tailor your travel schedule. We can welcome groups from 2 to 7 people.
If you are traveling solo we are also offering individual lessons. Just ask us.
Classes are held in state-of-the-art facilities in the center of Kyoto.
Classes are held either in English or French at your best convenience.
Our classes usually take place from 18:00 pm to 21.00 pm.
BOOKING PROCESS
1 - We kindly invite you to first contact us in advance to tell us when you would like to attend a class.
2 - We will then come back to you to confirm our availability and fix the date of the cooking class.
3 - Once a mutual agreement has been reached regarding, date and time, we will create for you a cooking class event online.
4- You will be finally asked to visit the Book a Japanese cooking class section of the website to pay the tuition fees in advance.
TUITION FEES
For groups from 2 to 7 people, our fees amount to 8.800 JPY per person including consumption tax (8.000+800).
Individual classes for solo travelers cost 11.000 JPY person including consumption tax (10.000+1000).
Once the date of the class has been fixed with us, payment should be made online in advance.
